Cultural Competence

Two Mothers embracing their sonCultural competence is a set of behaviors, attitudes and policies that increase the capacity of an individual or organization to respond effectively within beliefs and practices of individuals, families and communities. Cultural competence can increase the quality of services and produce better outcomes.

The Technical Assistance Partnership for Child and Family Mental Health offers guides and tools based on values and experience in systems of care.

The TA Partnership also provides a forum, links and resources for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, Intersex or Two-Spirit Community to collaborate and share knowledge.
