  • Get involved and stay involved if you think your child needs help.
  • Be persistent with your child’s school or when trying to access services. Sometimes schools and others providing services may try to downplay your child’s problems.
  • The goals described in your child’s treatment plan or IEP should be very clear and concrete.  You should be able to measure your child’s progress.
  • Ask questions, write everything down and be prepared to advocate for your child.
