Connect with other families as they are, a wonderful source of information.
Get involved and stay involved if you think your child needs help.
Be persistent with your child’s school or when trying to access services. Sometimes schools and others providing services may try to downplay your child’s problems.
The goals described in your child’s treatment plan or IEP should be very clear and concrete. You should be able to measure your child’s progress.
Ask questions, write everything down and be prepared to advocate for your child.
