Family Peer Support

Family Peer Support is an orientation for Family Partners who have worked through their own initial stages of understanding their child’s issues and are prepared to help others on their journey. This training covers the history and principles of family support, the role of Family Partners, and the importance of understanding the family journey and culture. Participants will also build skills in establishing partnerships, communicating effectively, handling conflict and setting boundaries. This orientation was developed in cooperation with the nationally recognized expert in family support, Marlene Penn.
