Families of youth who are justice-involved rely on help from PPAL family support specialists. PPAL has collected data from these families, which clearly shows the challenges they face. Some of these are:
– 1 in 3 need help with school issues and 67% have been suspended.
– Although 83% have had a CRA filed and 77% have been arrested, only 6 out 10 receive any community services.
– Parents need help understanding their child’s needs and help navigating the juvenile justice system.

Research shows family support leads to better outcomes for youth and their families. Data like this helps us target the help to be even more effective.
