PPAL’s Families of Transition Age Youth program offers services and support for families of transition age youth.Transition Age Youth are young people between the ages of 16 to 26 who are in transition from childhood to young adulthood. It can be an especially difficult time for young people with mental health needs. Many are leaving services provided by special education, child welfare or mental health programs which are no longer available once they turn 18. They often find there are limited resources available or adult services designed for people much older. Their families are deeply concerned that they won’t succeed without extensive support.
